Write." is a good mantra, and I loved the leathercraft metaphor for how a newsletter (or a practice) toughens and softens with time.

I love that you're thinking about the layout before you unpack a single box. I keep looking at the sketch. Is the area in the upper right your classroom library? And I'm hoping those marks around three sides are windows. It will be joyful to teach in a room filled with that much natural light.
Thanks! I’m creating two reading areas. One is a reading nook next to a closet. The shelving in the closet was all broken, so I’m converting the closet into a reading room. The upper right corner will probably be where I put my two sofas, coffee table, and larger bookshelves (along the wall underneath the windows). That will be a larger flexible seating area for students. The mobile is old and filthy, but it does have natural light. I only wish the windows were larger. It’s a lot of work, but I love doing it. The challenge is to spend as a little of my own money as possible. I visit a lot of garage sales and look for free stuff!
